The Elie Wiesel Essay Competition

          

 

ELIGIBILITY

 Year 10 students currently studying at a Victorian school.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION

MONDAY, September 3, 2018.

*Essays submitted after September 3, 2018, 8:00pm will not be accepted.

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges. Notifications of the winning entries will be made in October.  No materials will be returned.

CRITERIA FOR SUBMISSION

1. Essays will be written in English on a set topic included in this document.

2. The length of the essay is 600 words.

3. Essays should be typed on 12-point font, Times New Roman, double

4. On a separate page attached to their essay, submitters must include their name, contact information, the school they are enrolled in, and their postal and email addresses. They must also sign that page with the following declaration:

“This essay is my own work. It has not been published or submitted previously, and does not involve plagiarism or collusion”

PRIZES

A Prize of $700 and a Certificate of Excellence will be awarded to the student with the winning entry. The winning school will also receive a Certificate of Excellence,

A Prize of $500 and a Certificate of Excellence will be awarded to the student with the second- place winning entry. The winning school will also receive a Certificate of Excellence.

A Prize of $300 and a Certificate of Excellence will be awarded to the student with the third- place winning entry. The winning school will also receive a Certificate of Excellence.

Winners will be honoured and presented with the prizes at a special ceremony
